MECHANICS OF THE DIGITAL PHOTO CONTEST

Open Competition

Open to amateurs and professional photographers or simply anyone who has a digital camera

The theme is Best Action Shot in Sports - Photos capturing a real action, a real moment  or a real emotion in any sports discipline (commercial sports, outdoor/indoor sports, adventure sports, extreme sports, etc . . .)
 
Judging criteria will be based on originality, composition, sharpnes, perfect form of the action shot and over-all impact

Photos can be taken from a professional digital SLR camera and/or point and shoot  digital cameras

Shots from mobile phones is excluded from this competition

Digital manipulation is limited to color enhancement, levels, brightness and contrast adjustments only to optimize a photo

Entry submissions will be open from June 15, 2009 to July 15, 2009 only, Mondays to Saturdays 10am to 5pm


How To Join

Download the registration form from the following sites: onesport.multiply.com  and www.clickthecity.com.

Joining fee is PhP 350.00 per person. This allows the person a maximum of 5 entries

Photo entries should be printed in an 11 x 14 inches size matte photo paper, with black background and white strip border, with your name and contact details written at the back of the photos.

Photo entries can be submitted in color or black and white

Submit the fully accomplished registration form together with your photo entries and joining fee in a big envelope to Onesport office at 1852 Asuncion St., Santiago Village, Reposo, Makati. Label the envelope “Onesport Photo Competition 2009” and put your name under.

Include also in the envelope the cd of the unedited, original file of the photo/s (raw or jpeg file or others) and also the file of the final photo/s submitted (the 11x14 size photo with borders). Label the cd with your name, contact details and the title “Onesport Photo Competition 2009”.

Onesport staff will receive your entries and your payment and will give you an acknowledgement receipt as proof of payment.

Photo Exhibit Tour

Maximum of 200 entries will then be chosen and exhibited for the month of July and August in 3 SM Malls:

July 20-26         Cyberzone SM Marikina
July 27-Aug 2   Cyberzone, Annex SM Norh EDSA
Aug 3-8             Cyberzone, SM Megamall
Aug. 8               Awardings, 4pm at the Atrium of SM Megamall


Celebrity Category

There will be a separate category for the photos taken by celebrities and personalities. This category will have 3 winners separate from the open category
 
Text Voting : People’s Choice Awards

Text voting will be open to all to select the top 5 people’s choice photos. Prizes will be given during the awardings

Text voters are invited to attend the awardings and will have a chance to win special prizes. Text voters who will be picked should be present during the awardings to receive their prize, otherwise the prizes will be waived

Final Judging

A separate panel of judges will be invited to pick the top 10 photos based on criterias that will be given them

People’s choice photos and the final top10 photos selected by the judges will be revealed and awarded on August 8, 2009 at 4pm at the Atrium of Sm Megamall

Winning photos will be featured in Onesport magazine and other publication and broadsheets

Terms and Conditions
By joining this contest, the participant agrees to let ONESPORT use the photos for another photo exhibition, publish the photos for editorial feature, publicity and promotional purposes (with photo credits), free of charge, anytime between June 15 to December 31, 2009. Then after, the entries will be returned.

Image Copyright
Copyright of all photos submitted to the contest, winning or non-winning entries, remains to the photographer.
The participant must be the sole author and owner of the copyright of all images entered. He/she owns the rights to reproduction of their images. Participants that violates this criteria will be disqualified. If this is discovered after the prize has been awarded, the prize must be returned or refunded by the participant. Particpants agree to fully indemnify Onesport magazine and its sponsors and employees in respect of all royalties, fees and any other monies owing to any person by reason of the participant breaching any of the foregoing.

Returns Policy
Photo submissions will be returned after December 31, 2009. Staff and judges are not responsible for loss or any damage to photographic submissions
